JUDGMENT / ORDER

THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE C. PRAVEEN KUMAR M.A.C.M.A No. 3048 of 2008 ORDER:
Questioning the Order dated 09.02.2007 passed in OP No.116 of 2006 on the file of the Chairman, Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Tribunal-cum-II Additional District Judge, Karimnagar, at Jagtial, wherein a sum of Rs.3,09,500/- was awarded as compensation, the second respondent in the OP i.e. the United India Insurance Company Limited, Karimnagar, preferred the present appeal before this Court.
During the pendency of the appeal, the matter was referred to Lok Adalat for settlement. Pursuant to a compromise arrived at between the parties, the Lok Adalat passed an Award on 12.04.2014, which is as under:
“Heard Sri E. Venugopal Reddy, learned counsel for the appellant and Sri M. Prathap and N. Madhusudan Reddy, learned counsel from the lower Court on behalf of respondents-claimants, are present. The matter has been settled amicably between the parties.
The respondents-claimants agreed to received the reduced compensation amount of Rs.2,84,000/- (Rupees two lakhs eighty four thousand five hundred only) with interest at 7.5% per annum from the date of petition till the date of realization against the awarded amount of Rs.3,09,500 with interest at 7.5% per annum from the date of petition till the date of realization.
The appellant-Insurance company is agreed to deposit an amount of Rs.2,84,500/- (Rupees two lakhs eighty four thousand five hundred only) with interest at 7.5% per annum from the date of petition till the date of realization, within a period of two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this award, after giving credit to the amount already deposited, in the event of default, the agreed amount shall carry interest @ 12% per annum from the date of default.
The respondents-claimants are permitted to withdraw the amount, as per the apportionment made by the tribunal, as and when deposited by the appellant-Insurance company.
The parties are informed that the court fee, if any, paid by any of them shall be refunded.
No orders as to the costs of appeal.”
In view of the award passed by the Lok Adalat pursuant to a settlement arrived at between the parties, the present appeal stands disposed of in terms of the said award. No order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions pending if any shall stand closed.
