JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to clear and release the consignments of populus nigar wood logs in light of the office memorandum issued by the 1st respondent in OM.No.8-131/2016-PP.II dated 30.03.2017 and consequently forbear the respondents from in any way detaining or withholding consignments of populus nigar wood logs.
2.Heard Mr.Ajmalkhan, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Saravanan, learned Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1 & 2 submitted that the populus nigar wood logs are not banned articles to import into India. Therefore the respondents are ready to release the consignments of the petitioner.
4. In view of the submission of Mr.D.Saravanan, learned Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 & 2 are directed to release the consignment as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law.
5. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
