JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, this writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal, at the stage of admission.
2. This writ petition is filed by the petitioner, seeking a direction to the respondents to disburse the insurance amount of Rs.1,00,000/- to the petitioner for the demise of his wife, namely, Ammakannu, by considering his representation dated 28.01.2017.
3. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner. Notice to the respondents is dispensed with, as no adverse order is going to be passed.
4. The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's wife, on 21.01.2015 sustained burn injuries, while she was in the kitchen and despite proper medical care, she died on 04.03.2015. As the petitioner's wife was a registered member in IFMR / respondents 2 & 3 herein, the petitioner has made an application followed by a representation dated 28.01.2017, seeking disbursement of the insurance amount of Rs.1,00,000/-. As the said representation is kept pending, without any action, this present petition is filed, for a direction to the authorities to dispose of his representation, in the manner known to law.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.01.2017 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all the other interested parties, if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. The writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
