Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned standing counsel for the State respondents.
The only prayer pressed in this writ petition is for a direction being issued to the second respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner in light of the judgement dated 22 December 2016 rendered by a Division Bench of the Court in Special Appeal No. 904 of 2011 (Sanjai Kumar Mishra & others Vs. Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University & others).
Accordingly and without going into the merits or otherwise of the claim of the petitioners, this petition shall stand disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to approach the second respondent for consideration of his claim. In case such an application is made within a period of two weeks from today, the second respondent shall consider the claim of the petitioner and pass a reasoned and speaking order dealing with the claim of the petitioner within a period of eight weeks therefrom.
