----------------------- The petitioner is the holder of Passport No.G9742426. In the Passport, the place of birth is shown as Kadampanad instead of Kuwait. The petitioner relies on Ext.P2, the birth certificate issued from the Minstry of Public Health, Kuwait. The petitioner has approached the 2nd respondent to rectify the entry in the passport regarding place of birth. The Passport authorities insisted the petitioner to produce Court order.
2. If the petitioner approaches the Passport authorities with relevant documents to show his place of birth, the Passport authorities shall make necessary corrections in the Passport within a period of within a period of two weeks on being satisfied with the genuineness of the claim made by the petitioner.
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
