The sole prayer made in the instant petition is for issuing direction to the court below, before whom petition under Section 13 of the of Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 is pending, to decide the same within a specified time frame.
Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the opposite party has already entered appearance in the proceedings and is contesting the same.
Section 21-B of the Hindu Marriage Act specifically provides that all proceedings under the Act should be held on a day to day basis and effort should be made to conclude the proceedings as far as possible within six months from the date of service of the petition on the respondent.
In view of the aforesaid provisions under the Act, I am of the opinion that no further direction is required.
The petition is accordingly disposed of.
