Heard Sri Mohd. Abrar Khan, learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned AGA and perused the impugned F.I.R, as well as material brought on record.
The relief sought in this petition is for quashing of the F.I.R. dated 23.8.2017 registered as Case Crime No. 306 of 2017, under sections 420, 467, 468, 471 IPC P.S. Mau District Chitrakoot.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the F.I.R. alleges that one Afaq Ahmad acted as an imposter for the real owner Rajni Singh (informant) to execute a sale deed in his favour in which petitioner and one Bhaiya Lal were marginal witnesses.
F.I.R. alleges that signatures of the informant were forged. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that Afaz Ahmad in CMWP No. 21664 of 2018 on 9.8.2018 having already been granted protection, petitioner being a marginal witness is also entitled to same protection.
We are not impressed with the above contention. There is definite allegation giving a definite role to the involvement of the petitioner. F.I.R. discloses commission of cognizable offence.
The writ petition lacks merit and is dismissed.
