Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondents.
The present writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs:
"(A) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.2 to initiate appropriate actions pursuant to Rules 21 and 22 of the Uttar Pradesh Maintenance and Welfare and Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2014 so as to ensure the life, liberty and property of the petitioner.
(B) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.2 to take appropriate decision on the pending application of the petitioner pursuant to Rules 21 and 22 of the Uttar Pradesh Maintenance and Welfare and Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2014 expeditiously within stipulated period of time as prescribed by this Hon'ble Court.
(C) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no.2 & 3 to provide the adequate security to the petitioner as her property and life is in danger."
The said prayers cannot be granted except prayer B at this stage.
We direct the respondent No.2, District Magistrate, Deoria to take decision on the pending application of the petitioner under the provisions of law within 12 weeks from today.
It is made clear that we have not gone into the merits of the matter at this stage.
