JUDGMENT / ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.02.2017 and issue death benefits and family benefits of late.Nagarajan to the petitioner.
2. Mr.Muthuramalingam, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioner is that she is the second wife of one late.Nagarajan. The said Nagarajan already married one Kasthuri and out of the said wedlock, one daughter and two sons were born to them. The deceased Nagarajan married the petitioner and during that wedlock, one son was born. After the death of the said Nagarajan, the first wife - Kasthuri and her children as well as the petitioner and her son have entered into a compromise, according to which, the elder son of Kasthuri is entitled to get the compassionate appointment and the petitioner is entitled to get the death-cum-family benefits of the said Nagarajan. In this regard, she made a representation dated 08.02.2017 to the second respondent, however, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition is filed.
4. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 08.02.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner so as to enable the petitioner to produce all the requisite documents, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
