JUDGMENT / ORDER

This court passed the following order in Crl.O.P.No.13688 of 2016 on 01.07.2016:- "This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.128 of 2016.
2.The learned Additional Pubic Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that a case in crime No.128 of 2016 has been registered by the respondent police.
3. In view of the above, the Criminal Original petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and file the final report as expeditiously as possible.
2.Alleging that the respondent police have not complied with the order, Contempt Petition has been filed.
3.Today, Mr.S.Baskar,Sub-Inspector of Police, F-3, Nungambakkam Police Station, is present.
4. Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that investigation in Crime No128 of 2016 was completed and the case was closed as "mistake of fact" on 21.02.2017 and that the closure report has also been sent by Registered Post on 24.02.2017 to the petitioner.
5. The respondent police is directed to file the closure report before the XIV Metropolitan Magistrate, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and liberty is given to the petitioner to work out her remedies, in accordance with law, before the XIV Metropolitan Magistrate.
6. With the above direction, the Contempt petition is closed.
