The Writ Petitioner is the mother of Dikra, who is allegedly under the illegal detention of respondents 2 to 4.
2. The petitioner, her husband (who is working in a Gulf country), the detenue Dikra and respondents 2 to 4 are present. We interacted with all of them. It is alleged in the Writ Petition and it is admitted by the second respondent that he has not attained the age of 21 years. Therefore, no legal marriage is possible between Dikra and the second respondent. Dikra and the second respondent stated that they are in love with each other and they would like to marry. Dikra stated that she is not willing to go along with her parents. Her main anxiety is that her parents would compel her to marry another man against her wishes. 3. Dikra is directed to go along with her parents. The Sub Inspector of Police (the first respondent), Kunnikkode, and the woman civil police officer, who accompanied Dikra to Court, would leave Dikra at the residence of the petitioner and sufficient assistance shall be provided for them for that purpose. A woman civil police officer of Kunnikkode Police Station shall make periodical visits (not in uniform) at the residence of the petitioner to ensure that Dikra is not being compelled to marry another person against her wish. No further direction is required in this matter.
