1. Petitioner's application for grant of firearm licence is stated to be pending since 08.07.2014.
2. While no mandamus can be issued for deciding the said application, it is left open to the petitioner to file fresh application for grant of firearm licence under the Arms Rules, 2016. If such an application is filed within two weeks from today, it is expected that the licensing authority shall proceed to decide the same in accordance with law, keeping in mind the timelines provided under the Arms Rules, 2016.
3. The writ petition is disposed of.
