Narayanan Embran vs Travancore Devaswom

High Court Of Kerala|19 December, 2014
|

JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Board, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioner, a retired Santhi from Cheruvalayamkulangara Devaswom, filed the writ petition seeking a direction to the second respondent to sanction and release pensionary benefits. On the last occasion, the learned Standing Counsel produced what are said to be the proceedings dated 20.11.2014 issued by the third respondent sanctioning the terminal benefits to the petitioner. The learned Standing Counsel has also submitted that already the amounts have been paid to the petitioner. On the last occasion, the learned counsel for the petitioner took time to get instructions, but today too she is not sure whether the petitioner has received the amounts. At any rate, the learned W.P.(c) No. 30281 of 2014 2 Standing Counsel has reiterated the submissions that the terminal benefits have been duly sanctioned and paid to the petitioner.
Recording the submission of the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Devaswom, this Court closes the writ petition as having not survived for consideration.
