JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner had preferred Ext.P2 appeal against Ext.P1 order of assessment. The petitioner had also submitted Ext.P3 application for stay. In the meantime, the revenue recovery proceedings are being initiated against the petitioner which is under challenge in this writ petition.
2. Heard the learned Government Pleader as well.
3. Having regard to the nature of contentions raised I am of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of directing the respondent authority to dispose of the appeal and stay petition within a time frame. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of as under:
The second respondent shall dispose of Ext.P3 stay petition within a period of one month and Ext.P2 appeal within a further period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Until disposal of Ext.P3 stay petition, the demand made pursuant to Ext.P1 shall be kept in abeyance.
