JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petitioners are concerned with the opening of the branches of the District Co-operative Bank within the area of operation of the primary societies. The issue is covered by the decision of this Court in Perumatty Service Co-operative Bank Ltd. v. Registrar of Co-
operative Societies (2014 (3) K.L.T. 483). In such circumstances, the issue will be re-considered and status quo, as on today, will be maintained till re-consideration of the issue. The impugned orders are, hence, set aside. It is also made clear that, opening of a branch in an area of operation of a primary society shall not stand in the way of re-consideration, which will be made, in accordance with law and W.P.(C)Nos.19110, 19232, 19234 &19235/2014 -:2:-
as per the decision referred above. The affected parties shall be given an opportunity of hearing before orders are passed. The orders shall be passed, within a period of six months from today.
Writ petition is disposed off.
