JUDGMENT / ORDER

Electricity connection was provided to the petitioner's building after disconnecting and dismantling the existing connection. The said connection was on the basis of an application for fresh connection by the petitioner. 2. This Court by interim order dated 31st January 2011 directed the respondents to restore the electricity supply to the building of the petitioner within two days from the date on which the petitioner produces a copy of the said order before the first respondent. It was also ordered that if any amount was due from the petitioner by way of energy charges after the connection was given in his name, he should pay the same within the time granted. There was a WPC No.1146/2011 2 further direction to pay reconnection charges within the time stipulated by the first respondent.
Today when the matter came up for hearing, it was submitted by both sides that in compliance of the interim order passed by this Court, electric connection was restored. However, it was submitted by the learned standing counsel for the respondent that Ext.P5 explanation filed by the petitioner is now pending before the first respondent. Therefore, this Court feels that this writ petition can be disposed of directing the first respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on Ext.P5, after affording the petitioner an opportunity of being heard.
Till that exercise is completed, the existing state of affairs shall continue.
This writ petition is disposed of as above.
