The instructions have come from the department. It appears that the landlord of the petitioner is objecting to the grant of a new connection in favour of the petitioner as the parties are litigating.
Sri Pranjal Mehrotra, learned Counsel for the respondent-department says that subject to the provision of an indemnity bond by the petitioner his case for a new connections will be considered.
In view of the above, the petitioner may supply an indemnity bond to the petitioner and in case, he does so, the department will then consider his case for grant of a new connection. This may be done within the next 15 days.
With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
