THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No.22758 of 2014 ORDER :
The case of the petitioner is that he holds passport bearing No.E8077707 issued by the 2nd respondent on 10.03.2004. He avers that in the said passport, his date of birth was mentioned as 16.08.1980 and his name was shown as Naini Ravindhar. He contended that his actual date of birth is 06.08.1985 and his name is Ravinder Nayini as per his Secondary School Certificate. Having noticed the wrong entries in the said passport, he submitted an application on 06.12.2013 to the 2nd respondent for correction of the same. This writ petition is instituted aggrieved by the inaction in considering his application for correction of date of birth and name in the passport.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that even though the petitioner submitted his application on 06.12.2013, so far no orders are passed.
3. Having regard to the aforesaid submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 06.12.2013 and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law regarding the correction of date of birth and the name in the passport records and communicate the same to the petitioner within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
