THIS WRIT PETITION IS FILED UNDER ARTICLES 226 AND 227 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA, PRAYING TO DIRECT THE R-1 TO GIVE POLICE PROTECTION TO THE PETITIONER AND HER FAMILY MEMBERS NAMELY SRI.V.NAGARAJ, HER HUSBAND AND SRI.GANDHI AND SRI.SHASTRY HER TWO SONS AND ETC.
THIS WRIT PETITION COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING IN ‘B’ GROUP THIS DAY, THE COURT MADE THE FOLLOWING:-
ORDER Sri.N.Sriram Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner.
Sri.Vijay Kumar A.Patil, learned Additional Government Advocate for the respondent Nos.1 and 2.
2. The petition is admitted for hearing. With consent of the learned counsel for the parties, the same is heard finally.
3. In this petition, the petitioner inter alia seeks a writ of mandamus directing the competent authority to provide police protection to the family members.
4. When the matter was taken up today, learned Additional Government Advocate submitted that the petitioner himself is an accused in several criminal cases and has submitted an application for police protection in the year 2016 and in case, the petitioner submits a fresh application for police protection to the family members, the same will be dealt with by the respondents in accordance with law.
5. In view of the aforesaid submissions and in the facts of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioner submits a fresh application for providing police protection, the same shall be dealt with in accordance with law by a speaking order within three months from the date of receipt of such application. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of.
