JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents as well as the learned Government Pleader, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioner, the Principal of National College, Court Road, Thaliparambu, is said to have filed Exhibit P7 representation before the second respondent seeking fare concession to the students studying in the College. Seeking its expeditious disposal, he filed the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the respondent authorities have already extended the W.P.(c) No. 29956 of 2014 2 benefit to one particular student. As such the same benefit, submits the learned counsel, ought to be extended to all other students without discrimination.
4. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Corporation has submitted that all the students are not similarly placed and going by the criteria set out for the purpose of providing fare concession, the respondent authorities have considered the case of the students on individual basis. According to him, it is not possible to treat all the students alike without having regard to the differentiating factors such as distance.
5. Be that as it may, in the facts and circumstances, having regard to the respective submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents as well as the learned Government Pleader, this Court, without adverting to the merits of the matter, disposes of the present writ petition with a direction to the second respondent to consider Exhibit P7 representation of the petitioner in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this W.P.(c) No. 29956 of 2014 3 judgment.
With the above observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
