For Petitioner : Mr.W.Camyles Gandhi For Respondent : Mr.C.Emalias, APP ORDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to expedite the investigation and file a final report in Crime No.320 of 2014 pending on his file.
2. The case of the petitioner is that on the basis of the complaint lodged by one Periyasamy, a case in Crime No.320 of 2014 was registered against him for the alleged offence punishable under Section 174 Cr.P.C, which was later on, altered into one under Section 306 IPC. Though the complaint was registered on 05.09.2014, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.320 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report, if not filed earlier, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
