JUDGMENT / ORDER

This writ petition has been filed, seeking to direct the respondent to sanction educational loan to his son namely, M.Sivakumar, who is studying B.E (Mechanical Engineering), on the basis of his representation dated 14.03.2017.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. Notice to the respondent is dispensed with, as a direction is issued to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that he had submitted a representation dated 14.03.2017 to the respondent along with relevant documents, to sanction educational loan to his son namely, M.Sivakumar, who is undergoing B.E. Course (Mechanical Engineering). It is the further case of the petitioner that though the Lead Bank Office of Indian Overseas Bank, by communication dated 13.03.2017, directed the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, there is no further progress in this matter with regard to sanction of educational loan to his son and hence, the present writ petition has been filed for the relief as stated supra.
4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the educational loan application / representation of the petitioner dated 14.03.2017 and pass appropriate orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. The writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
