These Criminal petitions coming on for Admission, this day, the Court made the following:
O R D E R The Byatarayanapura Police have laid 11 charge sheets against the petitioners herein in respect of the offences alleged to have been committed during the riot that had taken place on 07.01.2015 commencing from 09.15 A.M.
2. Though the petitioners have sought to quash the FIR/proceedings in all the above 11 cases, yet during hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioners has confined his submissions for a direction to the learned Magistrate to club all the cases together.
3. As the petitioners are accused of more than one offence of the same kind, within the meaning of Section 219 Cr.P.C. and there being allegations that different offences are committed in the course of the same transaction, the separate charges could be tried at the same time in terms of Section 220 of the Code.
Accordingly, petitions are disposed of with a direction to the learned Magistrate and the trial Court to club all the cases together and proceed with the trial in accordance with law.
