JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner retired as Programme Officer in the Tamil Nadu Institute of Labour Studies, Chennai and as per the order dated 30.8.2013 issued by the third respondent, it could be seen that he was permitted to retire from service on reaching the age of superannuation with effect from 31.8.2013. Therefore, the petitioner was proper in making a representation requesting the respondents to disburse his retiral benefits at the earliest point of time. Since the said representation has not been considered, he is before this Court.
2. Placing on record the request made by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents to grant four weeks time to pass orders on the petitioner's pending representation, the respondents are hereby directed to consider the pending representation of the petitioner on merits and pass appropriate orders for disbursement of the retiral benefits to which he is entitled to, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
