This writ petition has been filed by Mr.P.Satheeskumar seeking issuance of a mandamus, directing the Executive Officer, Karumandisellipalayam Town Panchayat at Perunthurai, the first respondent herein to consider his application dated 31.5.2016 for appointment to the post of Night Watchman in Karumandisellipalayam Town Panchayat at Perunthurai, Erode District, within a stipulated time.
2. This misconceived prayer is absolutely untenable. The reason is that the petitioner, even without any advertisement whatsoever issued by the respondent Department calling for applications from the public for appointment to the post of Night Watchman in Karumandisellipalayam Town Panchayat at Perunthurai, on his own, filed an application on 31.5.2016 thinking that there are vacancies for the post of Night Watchman in Karumandisellipalayam Town Panchayat at Perunthurai. Such an application cannot be entertained either by the respondents or by this Court. If any such application made without any public notification calling for applications from the eligible candidates is accepted by the respondents, this would cause many irregularities in the matter of filling up of any vacancies in the respondent Department. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
