JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in Cr.No.28 of 2015 on the file of the fist respondent police. Pending investigation, the petitioner and the defacto complainant/2nd respondent herein have amicably resolved the dispute among themselves and accordingly they have entered into a Joint Memo of Compromise on 25.07.2017. One of the terms in the Joint Memo is that the petitioner has to handover the Fixed Deposit for a sum of Rs.20 lakhs to the second respondent as a guardian of a minor son K. Sanjay Krishna @ H. Sanjay.
2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned counsel for the petitioner has handed over two Fixed Deposit Receipts both dated 28.07.2017 for a sum of Rs.15 lakhs and Rs.5 lakhs respectively drawn on Corporation Bank, Mint Street Branch, Chennai. The defacto complainant as well as the petitioner have filed a Joint Affidavit before this Court on 27.07.2017 whereby they have stated that both of them have no objection if the investigation in Cr.No.28 of 2015 on the file of the W-8, All Women Police station, Thirumangalam is quashed.
3. In view of the above, FIR in Cr.No.28 of 2015 on the file of the W-8, All Women Police station, Thirumangalam is quashed. Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
