JUDGMENT / ORDER

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr.P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
2 The petitioner would state that his father [late] Muthu, died in harness during the year 2001 and at the time of his demise, he was working as a Village Assistant. The petitioner would further aver that he has studied upto 8th standard and he knows two-wheeler driving and he is taking care of his age old mother. The petitioner, on account of the demise of his father, requested the respondents to give compassionate ground appointment as Village Assistant in the form of representation / application dated 12.12.2016 and though the said representation was received and acknowledged by the respondents on 14.12.2016, he is yet to be favoured with any kind of response and therefore, the petitioner came forward to file this writ petition.
3 Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
4 Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, either in his representation or in this writ petition, directs the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 12.12.2016 submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
5 The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
