JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioners raised a complaint before the District Collector, Alappuzha regarding the construction of Arakkathara- Velathikara - Nalupara road in Ward No.7 of Neelamperoor Grama Panchayath. The petitioners claim to be the resident of Neelamperoor Grama Panchayath. According to the petitioners, the road has been constructed without following any formalities and also the work was carried out only to a length of 160 metres instead of constructing the road to a length of 200 metres. It is submitted that the bills have been approved without verifying the actual construction by the contractor. The petitioners have approached this Court on account of non-consideration of Ext.P9 complaint.
2. The learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that files have been seized by the Vigilance Department and an enquiry is going on.
W.P.(C) No.17368 of 2014 2 I am of the view, independent of the Vigilance enquiry initiated in the matter, the Collector shall conduct the enquiry as to the construction and redress any grievance of the petitioners and also to take any appropriate remedial measures. Therefore, Ext.P9 shall be considered after hearing the petitioners, Contractor and other Officials. This shall be done within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
