Heard learned counsel for the parties.
This contempt application is filed for punishing the opposite party for committing wilful / deliberate disobedience of order dated 18.5.2015 in Writ - A No.28633/2014.
By order dated 18.5.2015, the writ petition filed by the applicant was disposed of with the direction to the opposite party to consider the promotion of the applicants on the post of Head Constable, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
A compliance affidavit has been filed on behalf of the applicant, annexing therewith an order of the Superintendent of Police (Karmik), U.P. Police Hqs., Allahabad dated 5.9.2016 and the U.P. Police Recruitment and Promotion Board dated 2.9.2016, whereby the claim of the applicant was considered and rejected.
Learned counsel for the applicant challenge the correctness of orders dated 2.9.2016 / 5.9.2016, but considering the limited jurisdiction, the Court cannot comment on the same, remedy for the applicant lies elsewhere.
The contempt does not survive and is liable to be dismissed.
The contempt is dismissed.
