The sole relief claimed in the instant petition is for issuance of a direction to the Prescribed Authority before whom Rent Case No. 10/2002 under Section 21(1)(a) of U.P. Act No. 13 of 1972, is pending, to decide the same, within a stipulated time.
A perusal of the order sheet reveals that on 27.8.2018, the Court directed the applicant to take steps. The order dated 3.11.2018 grants time for filing objections. Counsel for the petitioners is not in a position to clarify as to in what reference the above orders were passed. He states that certain substitution matter is pending, but he is not in a position to make a positive statement in that regard.
Having regard to the entire facts of the case, the petition is disposed of by directing the Prescribed Authority to ensure that the release application is decided expeditiously, soon after the Misc. application, if any, pending before it is disposed of. The Prescribed Authority shall not grant any unnecessary adjournments to the parties, keeping in mind the fact that the release application is of the year 2002.
