Heard counsel for the petitioner and Standing Counsel for State of UP.
The present writ petition has been filed for mandamus directing District Magistrate, Bareilly/ Licencing Authority, respondent no. 2 to decide the application of the petitioner dated 15.10.2018 for grant of fire arm licence Pistol/Revolver within specific period as fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
The counsel for the petitioner submits that the application for grant of Arm License is pending since 15.10.2018 and same may be decided by respondent authority within stipulated time as fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
The learned Standing Counsel has no objection to aforesaid submission.
Without entering into the controversy involved in the writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent-2 to decide application dated 15.10.2018 filed by the petitioner for grant of fire arm licence, expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months from the date of producing a certified copy of this order before the concerned authority, in accordance with law, provided there is no other legal impediment.
It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the claim of the petitioner on merit.
