JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Court, while disposing of the writ petition on 11.09.2015 has directed the 3rd respondent to act on the letter of the 2nd respondent dated 10.12.2014 and submit a report within four weeks with a further direction to the 3rd respondent to pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a further period of four weeks and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
2. The petitioner alleging non-compliance of the order has filed this contempt petition.
3. Mr.I.Arokiasamy, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents/contemners has produced G.O.(D).No.360 Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (E1) Department dated 16.08.2016 and would submit that the request made by the petitioner has been considered and rejected.
4. In response to such submission, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the said order is not in compliance of the order passed by this Court and would add that the petitioner is contemplated to file a writ petition challenging the legality of the said Government Order. In the considered opinion of the Court, in the light of passing of the above cited Government Order, nothing survives for adjudication in this contempt petition. Therefore, the contempt petition is closed. Further, the petitioner, if so advised, is at liberty to challenge the above said Government Order in accordance with law before the competent forum.
