JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondent, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioner, an Executive Engineer working in the respondent Devaswom Board, seeks promotion from Grade-II to Grade-I with effect from 1.6.2009. Having been promoted to Grade-II on 1.6.2007, the petitioner is said to be due to retire on 31.5.2015. Claiming that the petitioner is eminently situated to be promoted and that there is no statutory impediment to consider his case for promotion, he submitted Ext.P6 representation, dated 15.5.2014 to the respondent.
W.P.(C)No.27412 OF 2014 : 2 :
Complaining of its non-disposal, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the issue concerning grade promotion stands already settled in Exts.P1 and P4 judgments rendered by this Court and that Ext.P6 representation of the petitioner shall be considered in the light of the ratio laid down in those judgments.
4. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Devaswom Board has submitted that the respondent Commissioner will be taking every step to consider Ext.P6 representation in accordance with law.
In the above facts and circumstances, having regard to the respective submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Board, this Court, without expressing any merits of the case, disposes of the writ petition with a direction to the respondent to consider Ext.P6 representation filed by the petitioner, in the light of Exts.P1 and P4 W.P.(C)No.27412 OF 2014 : 3 :
judgments, and pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
