Having heard learned advocates for the respective parties, by way of ad-interim relief, the respondent No.2 authority is directed to hand over the petitioner s passport to the petitioner for getting it renewed, as period of passport has expired, as stated in the application. The passport may be handed over within three days to the petitioner from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Thereupon, the petitioner shall submit the passport to the passport authority with application for its renewal to be decided by the passport authority in accordance with law. The receipt/counter folio issued by the passport authority shall be deposited by the petitioner with respondent no.2
3. Direct service to respondent No.2 is permitted.
