Petitioner Vs The Director, Directorate of Government Examinations, DPI Campus, College Road, Chennai-600 006. ... Respondent Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to award 7 marks to the Petitioner's daughter (registration No.327292) for having written the correct answers and not properly valuated answers for the question number 19,21 and 24 in part II, section B, one mark for question No.16 in part I, section A, in Biology-Zoology paper, and consequently direct the respondent to issue fresh mark sheets to the petitioner's daughter namely Selvi. M.M.Devadarshini within a time to be stipulated.
For Petitioner : Mr.M.R.Jothimanian For Respondents : Mr.G.Nagarajan (for R1 & R2) R3 – notice dispensed with O R D E R The petitioner's daughter wrote +2 examination and she obtained 63 marks in Biology-Zoology paper. Contending that she answered certain questions correctly, now, the writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to award 7 marks to the petitioner's daughter in respect of question Nos.19,21 and 24 in Biology-Zoology paper.
2. Heard both parties.
3. Mr.V.Anandhamoorthy, learned Additional Government Pleader would produce the marks after re-valuation in respect of question No.19, 20, 21 and 24. In respect of question no.19, the petitioner's daughter originally obtained 1 mark and the same has been confirmed on re-valuation. As far as question No.20 is concerned, the petitioner's daughter was granted 3 marks originally and on re- valuation, for not giving complete answer, 1 ½ marks was reduced. As far as question nos.21 and 24 are concerned, the petitioner's daughter was awarded 'Zero' marks originally and after re-valuation, the petitioner's daughter was awarded 2 marks each for question nos. 21 and 24 and four marks given originally has been changed, on re-valuation, to 3 ½ marks.
3. Since the re-valuation has been done and the marks have been awarded, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Connected M.P. is closed.
