Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned A.G.A. for the State.
The petitioners herein seek issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus commanding the opposite parties to protect their matrimonial life and liberty.
Contention of the learned counsel for the petitioners is that the petitioners have married each other of their own volition and on the date of marriage they had attained the age of majority, however, the Police is harassing them at the behest of family members of petitioner no. 1, as the marriage is against their will, hence this petition seeking protection.
If there is no evidence to show that either of the petitioners was not of the age of majority on the date of marriage and they are not wanted in any other criminal case, then Police the will not unnecessarily interfere in their peaceful life. With these observations/directions this writ petition is disposed off.
It is made clear that we have not adjudicated the age of the petitioners nor the validity of their marriage.
