Ministry Of Railway vs Unknown

High Court Of Gujarat|24 July, 2012

JUDGMENT / ORDER

(PER : HONOURABLE MR.JUSTICE D.H.WAGHELA) The petitioner authorities have sought extension of time-limit by six months so as to enable them to disburse payments to the families affected by the project. Learned counsel Mr.Ravi Karnavat, appearing for the petitioners, fairly conceded that by order dated 24.7.2012 in the main SCA No.3797 of 2012 and allied matters, only an observation was made for early conclusion of the proceedings under section 20F of the Railways Act; and no time-limit or dead-line was fixed. Therefore, there is no question of extending any time-limit. It is, however, desirable that the proceedings, as aforesaid, are concluded expeditiously and the project-affected-people receive their dues as early as practicable. With these observations, the application is dismissed.
