The petitioners are elected to the executive of Parents Teachers Association of Government Higher Secondary School, Balaramapuram in the general body meeting held on 24/11/2010. The 5th respondent is elected as the President of PTA. It is submitted by the petitioners that after 2010, no election has been conducted for electing office bearers of Parents Teachers Association. According to the petitioners, validity of the term of the office bearers is only one year. The petitioners submit that the 5th respondent is continuing as a President and he also committed misappropriation of funds of the school. The petitioners preferred Ext.P6 representation before the first respondent. 2, Considering the nature of the allegations, I am of the view that the first respondent shall consider Ext.P6, after hearing the petitioners, 5 respondent and the school authorities. Needful shall be done within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
It is the further case of the petitioners that General Body meeting for electing the office bearers of the Parents Teachers Association is proposed to be conducted without issuing identity cards to the parents of the wards studying in the school. I am of the view that this contention of the petitioners is also to be considered by the first respondent while taking decision in Ext.P6 to ensure a free and transparent election to PTA..
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
