JUDGMENT / ORDER

Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan, J.
The petitioners complain that they are unlawfully obstructed in carrying out activities in an estate belonging to them. It appears that there are disputes between the private respondents and the petitioners. Those disputes are pending before the labour authorities. That has to go through its due process. At the same time, as stated in the interlocutory order already issued, the police has to ensure that law and order is maintained. If commission or apprehension of any cognizable offence is brought to the notice of the jurisdictional police authority, due action shall follow in accordance with law. It goes without saying that any action taken shall be in conformity with the relevant statutory provisions. Subject to that, this writ petition is ordered W. P. (C) No.21817 of 2014 -2-
directing that police shall maintain law and order while parties will be at liberty to carry on with proceedings stated to be pending before the labour authorities. This judgment will stand without prejudice to all other proceedings.
