Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel.
This petition assails an order dated 25 July 2018 pursuant to which the claim of the petitioner for regularization has come to be negatived.
It appears that on an earlier occasion, the petitioner had approached this Court contending that his case for regularization would merit consideration under the 2001 Rules. The respondents, in the impugned order, have taken the position that the petitioner lastly worked in 2006 and that consequently he is not entitled for regularization under the 2016 Rules.
Learned counsel is unable to dispute the position of the applicability of these Rules. The submission that his case for regularization should have been considered in 2006 or in 2010 cannot possibly be countenanced de hors the Rules of regularization which now prevail.
The petition lacks merit and is dismissed.
