JUDGMENT / ORDER

THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE C.V. NAGARJUNA REDDY WRIT PETITION No.31285 of 2014 Dated: 18.10.2014 Between:
Masihullah Sharifi and 2 others .. Petitioners and The State of Telangana Rep. by its Prl.Secretary Education dept., Secretariat, Hyderabad and 3 others.
Counsel for the Petitioner: Mr.M.Satish Kumar Counsel for respondent No.1: AGP for Education The Court made the following:
ORDER:
.. Respondents This writ petition is filed for a Mandamus to declare the action of the respondents in detaining the petitioners in B.E III year (Semester I), on the ground that they have more than 12 backlogs, as illegal and arbitrary.
At the hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner has not disputed that as per the Regulations of respondent No.2- University, if a student has more than 12 backlogs, he/she is not entitled to promotion to the next year. It is also not disputed by the learned counsel that his clients have more than 12 backlogs.
In the face of these admitted facts, the detention of the petitioners in B.E III year (Semester I), which is in conformity with the University Regulations, cannot be termed as illegal or arbitrary. This Court cannot entertain any writ petition and grant relief, which runs contrary to the University Regulations.
Therefore, I do not find any merit in this writ petition and the same is, accordingly, dismissed.
As a sequel to the dismissal of the writ petition, W.P.M.P.No.39105 of 2014 shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
