Petitioner is the accused in crime No.109 of 2013 of the Mananthavady Excise Range office for the offences punishable under Section 8(1) & (2) of the Abkari Act for alleged possession and transportation of 2 litres of arrack on 29/09/2013, is in custody since 02/05/2014 and seeks bail. 2. The application opposed by the learned Public Prosecutor. It is submitted that the contraband was seized from the possession of the petitioner.
3. Learned counsel requests for bail.
4. Since investigation of the case is in the preliminary stage, request for bail cannot be allowed at this stage.
The application is dismissed without prejudice to the petitioner moving again at a later stage of the investigation.
