Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State respondents.
Petitioner who is a major has approached this Court alleging that respondent no.4, her father is trying to forcibly marry her against her wishes. From the pleadings, we find that she has made various representations to the district authorities and police authorities but no heed has been paid.
Considering the facts, we dispose of the writ petition by providing that petitioner may approach the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad, respondent no. 2 by means of an application along with a certified copy of this order ventilating her grievances within ten days from today, with the direction to the said authority that in case any such application is made, he shall proceed to inquire into the matter and take suitable steps to protect the liberty of the petitioner within two weeks from the date of making of the application.
