1. Solitary grievance of the petitioners appear to be that their Suit No. T201616660106811, Original No.90 of 1987 (Mehdei Vs. Jagarnath & Ors.), filed under Section 229-B of the U.P. Zamindari Abolition & Land Reforms Act, 1950, before respondent no.2-Sub-Divisional Officer, Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, has remained pending for more than 30 years. Initially, the proceedings remained pending on account of ongoing consolidation proceedings. However, those were dropped in the year 2011. Thus, sufficient time has elapsed and suit proceedings ought to have been concluded.
2. Without entering into the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.2-Sub-Divisional Officer, Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, to decide the aforesaid suit, as expeditiously as possible, strictly in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order, provided that the petitioner does not seek any adjournment during that period.
