The petitioner has filed this writ petition complaining of a proposal by respondents 3 to 7 to start a private fish, meat and poultry market in the middle of Edakkara town. The petitioner apprehends that, the proposed market would cause pollution and would render the lives of the people in the locality insufferable and miserable. According to the petitioner, the residents of the locality have raised strong objections to locating the market right in the heart of the town. The petitioner also apprehends that the second respondent is likely to grant licence to various vendors who carry on their activity from the road side. It is contended that, starting of the market would be to the detriment of the general public. Therefore, the petitioner has sought various WPC 26699/2014 2 reliefs in this writ petition. 2. Heard. I notice that the petitioner and others have made a number of complaints to the second respondent on which according to the petitioner, no action has been taken. Ext.P8 is the latest complaint so preferred. Since Ext.P8 is pending consideration of the second respondent, it is sufficient that this writ petition is disposed of directing the said authority to consider the complaints and to pass appropriate orders thereon, without delay.
This writ petition is therefore disposed of directing the second respondent to consider Ext.P8 complaint submitted by the petitioner and others, in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible and at any rate before licences are granted to respondents 3 to 7 to start vending of fish and meat in the market that is proposed to be started.
