The petitioner nos.1 and 2 claim to have performed their marriage out of their own free will and submit that they want to spend their life as husband and wife. The allegations in the writ petition are that the respondent nos.4 to 6 are causing harassment of the petitioners and it becomes difficult for them to live peacefully. The assertion of the learned counsel for the petitioners is that there is imminent danger to the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of the private respondents who are seeking undue assistance of the State respondents. It is further contended that no First Information Report had been lodged against the petitioners and as such, the State respondents cannot interfere in the peaceful living of the petitioners.
Be that as it may, having gone through the High School certificates of both the petitioners appended with the writ petition, it appears that they are major.
Considering the said fact, without expressing any opinion as to the validity of the marriage of the petitioners, it is provided that the petitioners shall not be harassed by the respondents including the State-respondents in any manner, except in accordance with law. The protection being granted to the petitioners herein, however, shall not operate against any legal action or legal proceedings being undertaken against the petitioners pursuant to the First Information Report, if any, lodged against them.
Disposed of.
