The petitioners are residents of Kavanadu Desom in Vadama Village. Along with certain other residents of the locality, the petitioners filed Ext.P1 mass petition requesting the respondent to construct a compound wall around 49.5 cents of land comprised in survey No.802/3 of Vadama village leaving sufficient space for widening the road which is being used by the public. When this matter is taken up for consideration, learned senior counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the said petition would be placed before the committee of the panchayat for consideration. In such circumstances, without making any observation as to the merits of the contentions raised by the petitioners this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to place Ext.P1 petition received from the petitioners and similarly situated persons for consideration of the committee of the Mala WP(C).No.26662/2013 2 Grama Panchayat. This shall be done within one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. On its receipt, the panchayat committee shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon expeditiously and in accordance with law, at any rate, within six weeks from the date of its receipt.
