The petitioner seeks correction of the date of birth entered in his passport. According to him, the correct date of birth is 06.04.1977 whereas it has been mistakenly entered in his passport as 06.04.1973. The petitioner submits that he has adequate documents in his possession to substantiate his contention regarding the error that has crept into the entry made in the passport.
In the facts and circumstances of the case, I dispose the writ petition with the following direction:
If the petitioner approaches the third respondent with all the necessary documents and copies of the decisions that he seeks to rely on, the third respondent shall cause a decision to be taken in the matter by the competent authority within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
