Heard learned counsel for the parties.
By the instant petition, petitioner seeks the following relief:
"(a) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing to the respondent no. 2 to issue the arm license of revolver/pistol to the petitioner for the protection of his personal life and property as well a s his family members in pursuance of the application dated 24.04.2018."
Learned Standing Counsel has received instruction dated 26.07.2021 from the office of the second respondent, District Magistrate, Prayagraj and submitted that application of the petitioner for grant of arm license shall be considered by the second respondent within a reasonable time.
In view thereof, the writ petition is disposed of directing the second respondent, District Magistrate, Prayagraj, to consider and decide the application of the petitioner, by a reasoned and speaking order, expeditiously preferably, within three months from the date of filing of a fresh application along with a copy of the petition.
It is made clear that Court has not considered the case of the petitioner on merits.
