JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioner applied for the post of Reserve Driver in KSRTC and emerged successful in the practical test and physical fitness test conducted by it on 04.03.2014. While verifying the documents, the 3rd respondent found certain discrepancies in the date of birth mentioned in the petitioner's licence. Having sought time from his prospective employer to get the date of birth corrected, the petitioner is said to have made Ext.P4 application before the additional 4th respondent seeking correction of the date of birth in his driving licence. Complaining of delay, the petitioner filed the present writ W.P.(C) No.16347/2014 -2-
petition.
3. The learned Government Pleader, on instructions, has submitted that the claim of the petitioner to have the change in the date of birth in Ext.P2 driving licence cannot be sustained. He has made elaborate submissions demonstrating in what manner the claim cannot be sustained. He has further submitted that, if the contention of the petitioner is to be accepted, at the earliest point of time when the petitioner obtained the driving licence, he ought to have produced a false certificate.
4. Be that as it may, it is indisputable that Ext.P4 application is pending before the additional 4th respondent, who is competent to take a decision on the issue.
In the facts and circumstances, having regard to the respective submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader, this Court, without adverting to the merits of the matter, disposes of the writ petition with a direction to the additional 4th respondent to W.P.(C) No.16347/2014 -3-
consider Ext.P4 representation of the petitioner in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. No order as to costs.
